Privacy Policy

What we collect when you shop or talk to us, why we need it, who helps us handle it, and how you stay in control of it.

Last updated 25 September 2026

The short version

  • We collect only what we need to make, ship and support your order, and to reply when you get in touch.
  • We never sell or rent your personal data.
  • Order updates go to everyone who orders. Offers go only to customers who have ordered and said yes.
  • You can ask to see, correct or delete your data at any time.

1.Who we are

The Nourishery (thenourishery.com) is a brand of BETTERKISS LLP, registered at Shikka Mansion, Patan, Maharashtra – 415206. We decide how your personal data is used, so under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) we are the “Data Fiduciary”. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.

2.What we collect

When you place an order

Your name, phone number, email address, billing and shipping address, what you ordered, and any notes you add. You can check out as a guest. If you create an account, we also keep your username, your order history and your password (stored in encrypted form).

When you pay

Razorpay handles your payment. We receive the transaction ID, amount, status and payment method type. We never receive your full card number, CVV, UPI PIN or bank login.

When you report a problem with a delivery

The unboxing video and photos you send us.

When you contact us

Through our contact form (run on Zoho Forms): your name, email, phone number and whatever you write. On WhatsApp: your number, profile name and messages.

Automatically, when you browse

Your IP address, device and browser type, the pages you visit and the site that referred you. We collect this through cookies and Google Analytics (see Cookies).

3.Why we use it

  • To process, make, pack and deliver your order.
  • To send order updates: confirmation, dispatch and tracking.
  • To handle questions, delivery claims and complaints.
  • To reply to enquiries, including about AI Automation.
  • To prevent fraud and keep the website secure.
  • To meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations.
  • To understand how the website is used, so we can improve it (only with your consent to analytics cookies).
  • To send updates and offers, as described below.

4.The basis we rely on

We process your data either with your consent, or for legitimate uses the DPDP Act allows. For example, when you voluntarily give us your details to fulfil an order, or when the law requires us to keep records.

Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time by contacting us. Withdrawing consent doesn’t affect what we did before. It may mean we can’t complete an order that is still in progress.

5.Order updates and offers

Everyone who orders receives messages about their order by email and/or WhatsApp.

We send updates about new pieces and offers only to customers who have ordered from us and chosen, at checkout, to receive them. You can stop them at any time by replying “STOP” on WhatsApp, using the unsubscribe link in an email, or writing to us.

6.Who we share it with

We never sell or rent your personal data. We share it only with the services that help us run the shop, and only what each one needs:

  • Hostinger: hosts our website.
  • WordPress and WooCommerce: the software that runs our site and store.
  • Razorpay: processes payments.
  • Courier partners: receive your name, address and phone number to deliver your order.
  • Zoho: runs our contact form.
  • WhatsApp Business (Meta): carries our messages with you.
  • Google Analytics (Google): measures how the site is used, only with your consent.
  • Our cookie-consent tool: remembers your cookie choices.

We may also share data with professional advisers (such as our accountants and lawyers) under confidentiality, or with government authorities when the law requires it.

7.Cookies

  • Essential cookies keep your cart, checkout, login and security working. The site can’t work without them.
  • Analytics cookies (Google Analytics) tell us which pages are useful. We set them only after you agree in the cookie banner.
  • Preference cookies remember choices such as your cookie settings.

You can change your choice at any time through the cookie banner, or block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies will stop checkout from working.

8.Where your data is stored

Your data is stored and processed mostly in India. Some of our service providers (such as Google, Meta and Zoho) may store or process it outside India, as the DPDP Act permits. We choose providers that take reasonable care of security.

9.How long we keep it

We keep your personal data for as long as you keep interacting with us. We delete or anonymise it after 10 years of inactivity, unless a law requires us to keep it longer.

If you ask us to delete your data sooner, we will. The exception is records the law requires us to keep, such as invoices and tax records.

10.How we protect it

We use HTTPS across the site, limit who can access personal data, and work with reputable providers. No system is perfectly secure. If a personal data breach affects you, we will inform you and the Data Protection Board of India as the law requires.

11.Your rights

Under the DPDP Act, you can:

  • ask for a summary of the personal data we hold about you, how we use it, and who we have shared it with;
  • ask us to correct, complete or update it;
  • ask us to erase it;
  • withdraw your consent;
  • raise a grievance with us; and
  • nominate someone to exercise these rights on your behalf if you die or become unable to.

To make a request, email thebettercompany21@gmail.com or message us on WhatsApp with the subject “Privacy request”. We may need to verify your identity first, and we respond within 30 days. If you aren’t satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

12.Children

Our pieces are made for babies and children, but they are bought by adults. We don’t knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18.

If you share a child’s details with us for a custom piece (for example, a name to knit in), you confirm that you are their parent or guardian or have their permission. We use those details only to make that piece. If we learn that we have collected a minor’s data without the required consent, we delete it.

14.Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The date at the top of this page shows the latest version. If we make a significant change, we will let you know on the website or by email.

15.Grievance Officer and contact

Questions, requests or complaints about your personal data can go to our Grievance Officer. We acknowledge every message within 48 hours.
